Symptomedix, the medical division of KI, has successfully completed field testing of a Bayesian Diagnostic System for diagnosis of several forms of dementia in concert with a large HMO. The system uses KI Adaptive Forms technology to arrive at an initial diagnosis through an interactive web-based dynamic questionnaire.
The system is designed for use by a Nurse Practitioner as part of the patient intake protocol for a specialty clinic. The field test was successful.
A version of this system may be seen at http://www.symptomedix.com/cgi-bin/dementia.cgi . Please note that this version is designed to demonstrate a technical capability and must not be used as a substitute for a medical diagnosis by a physician
Automotive Information Systems (AIS) in Saint Paul, MN has released a new version of the Identifix web site http://identifix.com/
AIS has been using KI software since 1998 and the Identifix site is the second of two sites that provide support for automotive repair. The Identifix site provides a large number of data sources to automotive service technicians including one of the largest proprietary automotive repair databases available. In addition to traditional support knowledge bases, AIS provides the "Advanced Flow Chart" tool implemented using KI's Bayesian Diagnostic technology.
The Advanced Flow Chart tool contains more than 1,000 unique Bayesian diagnostic networks that are built and maintained with KI software. The networks typically have 100 to 250 nodes and, taken together, prove support for the more than 22,000 variations of automobile year, make, and model. KI provided the initial training. Twelve senior automotive service technicians built and maintain the diagnostic models.
Identifix is a commercial service offered to independent garages in the USA for a monthly subscription. It is the largest implementation of KI software and may be the largest and most complex of any of Bayesian implementation in commercial operation.
